1970 Dark Green Ford Gran Torino Fastback

Clint eastwood has been directing movies for ages, and its aparent at this point that he is no spring chicken, but he still has skills when it comes to directing a movie that constantly changes course and keeps the audience guessing. the begining, Eastwood a relative shut in in a bad neighborhood almost completely taken over by 'asians' he just tries to keep to himself in the only house on the block that isn't in delapitated condition, but when the next door neibor's son breaks into his garage and attempts to steal his Grand Torino from peer pressure as an initiation to a gang that he wants to have no involvement with. shortly after this, the boys sister is walking downtown and is assulted by two men, eastwood sees this, rescues her and leaves. the sister, greatful that she is unharmed invites him over for food and a beer or two, he regretably accepts only to meet 'Toad'/Tao in the basement.

later that week, the family comes over and forces Tao to repay his debt to eastwood's character by working for him. since his house is already in the best shape of any, he sets Tao to work on the house across the street as he is sick of looking at the flaws all the time.

after a few other events like that, eastwood takes him to his barber to teach Tao how men talk - after passing a few comments back and fourth like "$10 jesus christ! are you part Jew?!" and "you fat stupid Italian Bastard" tao tries to emulate his speak and fails miserably to the point that we (the audience) feel sorry and embarrased for him.

Tao then somewhat perfects it when eastwood's character takes him to a local construction company to get a job - the foreman asks him 'you got a car?' to which tao then pulls out of his ass 'its got a cracked head gasket and the bastards want to bend me over and charge me $2,100 to fix it', the foreman replies a similar story and Tao gets the job.

after the gang sees that eastwood has befriended Tao, they decide to take Tao's sister, and rape her (the gang is Tao's cousins, so its even more messed up) and drive by Tao's crib, this gets Tao absolutely furious, but eastwood tells him to come back later that day when he has a plan.

Tao comes back at 4Pm that day, and eastwood takes him to the basement, hands him a medal that he was awarded in Korea and locks him in the basement, leaves and confronts the gang. Just before he gets there, he calls Taos sister and tells her that Tao is locked in his basement.

when Eastwood gets to the Gangs' hideout, he pulls out his fake 'hand gun' and blows each one away with it, just after that he asks them for a light to which they reply 'not for you' then he reaches for his lighter and gets riddled with bullets from Five-Seven, .22, 9mm, etc. all the way to the ground. two neibors witnessed it and the movie ends with tao watching the dead eastwood leave the picture as the non-digetic reading of his will is read stipulating that the Grand Torino is to go to Tao as long as he doesnt rice it out.

all in all, good movie - Id actually watch it a second time and thats not something I say often when reviewing a movie.
